Marillion were quite big in the 1980s with hits like “Kayleigh”, “Lavender”, “Incommunicado” and “Sugar Mice”. They had a total of 11 Top 40 UK hits during the time Fish was in the band. In 1988 vocalist Fish left the band to pursue a solo career.
On August 26 he was reunited with Marillion on stage for the first time in 19 years. It happened at the Hobbles on the Cobbles festival in Aylesbury, England where Fish was one of the artists. At the end of his set Fish said that “I’d like to introduce some old friends of mine” and his old Marillion bandmates entered the stage. Together they played Marillion’s very first single “Market Square Heroes”.
To many Marillion and Fish fans Marillion and Fish reuniting is a dream come true. However, this was a one-off event. Fish writes on his website: “Any rumours of reunions are completely unfounded and to be honest a wee bit ridiculous.”
